World Health Day

Everywhere around the world, people will be brought to heighten health awareness this April by the World Health Day which falls on the 7th. World Health Organization has always uses this opportunity to draw the attention of people towards the importance of global health, and this year the theme is Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere.

From minor adjustments in your eating habit to the bigger lifestyle change, there are many things we can do everyday to keep and stay healthy. It is still not too late to restart that new year resolutions and here are some things which we can do for a better, healthier life

Nutritional Diet
We can’t stress enough how important is to get enough fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in our daily intake. However, the amount of nutrient that our body absorbs from these foods may vary. This is why it is also important to add daily supplements into our diet. Coconut oil for example is proving to be one of the best natural superfood in the world that is high in natural saturated fats. Saturated fats not only increase the healthy cholesterol (known as HDL cholesterol), but also help convert the LDL “bad” cholesterol into good cholesterols. Its benefits thus range from boosting immune system, preventing chronic diseases and promoting weight loss.

Regular Exercises

Admit it, most of us exercise to lose weight. However let’s not forget that exercise actually benefits everything from our sleep quality, energy level and even memory!  The easiest way to start and to ensure that our body get the benefit of exercises is to start with light stretches at home or in the office.

Regular Checkups
No one (other than doctors - maybe) likes going to the hospitals. The good news is, today’s technology has enable us to monitor our health from the comfort of our home. There are user friendly tools such as the AccuCheck basic set to check glucose level, wearable to monitor our motion, smart scales to monitor weight and home blood pressure monitor.

This World Health Day, let’s make a conscious decision to go for a holistic approach to healthy living!
